Victorian Watch Chain - Very Unusual
5.00 (Great Britain Pounds) Shipping & Insurance 2.00

This Victorian Watch Chain is of an unusual design. It is not Silver but appears to be some sort of base metal. The links are all in good condition, as is the bar and swivel clip. The two panels in the chain are made of a darker metal with a old sailing ship in the centre (this looks like silver) and two glass panels each side. The objects on the panels look like Indian Clubs, but I cannot be absolutely sure on this. Indian Clubs were a popular motif on Victorian Watch and Sport Fobs. The Watch Fob attached to the chain is definitely solid silver with a Birmingham Hallmark for 1907. The shield in the centre is gold plated with an engraved name. Unfortunately time has got to the shield and some of the plating is worn and the name is now illegible. The chain measures 250mm from the bar to the end of the clip. There is a little damage to one of the ship panels.
